Welcome to a whole new era at IU Southeast! Every year we begin the opening of school with a busy – indeed sometimes frenzied – celebration as we greet our new and returning students, faculty, and staff. But this year is different in a truly momentous way, for this year we celebrate 70 years of devoted service to our students and community.

IU Southeast welcomes 70th class during new student induction26th August 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Aug. 26, 2011) – IU Southeast welcomed its latest class to campus at the annual Student Induction Ceremony Friday.The incoming freshmen are the 70th class at the University, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. New students – including freshmen and transfers – were welcomed to campus on Friday by faculty, administration, and fellow students.

IU Southeast celebrating its 70th anniversary26th August 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Aug. 26, 2011) – The 2011 school year at Indiana University Southeast will start with an anniversary party as the University marks its 70th year in Southern Indiana. The anniversary’s theme is “Celebrating the Past, Shaping the Future,” and to honor its seven decades of service, IU Southeast is hosting several events throughout the year starting with a Kickoff Celebration next week.

IU Southeast students to head back to the classrooms22nd August 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Aug. 22, 2011) – Empty classrooms across Indiana University Southeast are about to be filled again with thousands of students. A new student induction for incoming students will be held Friday, Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. in the IU Southeast Activities Building. IU Southeast students begin fall 2010 classes on Monday, Aug. 29.

IU Southeast noncredit course offers opportunity to write your life11th August 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Aug. 3, 2011) – He was a loving father. As a young woman, she wrote poetry and loved to knit. He loved to travel. She worked for the Pillsbury Co. for 37 years.

When writing about the life of a loved one who has passed, obituaries can be crafted to reflect exactly why we hope to be remembered. What would you want yours to say?

Through Indiana University Southeast’s Division of Continuing Studies Noncredit Programs, your life can be remembered exactly the way you want. More importantly, you can live your life so you will be remembered. In Write Your Own Obituary, students will explore how writing their own obituary can lead to planning and living a richer, more rewarding life.
