International and local journalists to visit IU Southeast18th April 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (April 18, 2011) – Two journalists, one local and one from abroad, will join forces at Indiana University Southeast this week to discuss the state of journalism. Reporter Sujoy Dhar, who works for Reuters in India, and reporter Laura Ungar, of The Courier-Journal, will speak at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, in the Cultural Resource Center at the IU Southeast Library.

IU Southeast volunteers prep for local park cleanup31st March 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (March 31, 2011) – IU Southeast volunteers are tackling local park cleanup for the annual Day of Service. The Grenadier Outstanding Leadership Development Program (GOLD) and the IU Southeast Student Government Association are sponsoring this year’s Day of Service clean up and beautification of Billy Herman Park in downtown New Albany.

Brazilian artist brings eclectic musical feast to IU Southeast31st March 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (March 31, 2011) – Brazilian musician Cyro Baptista will bring his unique sound to the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at IU Southeast in April as part of the Global Village Series. Baptista and a trio of up-and-coming musicians sing and play an array of instruments, blending African and Brazilian folk instruments like the mbira, gimbre, berimbau and balafon with electric keyboards, drum set, electric bass, and even bizarre homemade percussion instruments.

IU Southeast legislative forum canceled29th March 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (March 29, 2011) – A public legislative forum scheduled for Friday, April 1, at Indiana University Southeast will not be held. The event was canceled after it was announced that Indiana’s Democratic contingent had returned to the capital and state legislators would be participating in House sessions on Friday.
