IU Southeast volunteers prep for local park cleanup

NEW ALBANY, IN (March 31, 2011) – IU Southeast volunteers are tackling local park cleanup for the annual Day of Service.

The Grenadier Outstanding Leadership Development Program (GOLD) and the IU Southeast Student Government Association are sponsoring this year’s Day of Service clean up and beautification of Billy Herman Park in downtown New Albany.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 9, volunteers will be touching up paint, raking leaves, laying gravel, cleaning, and landscaping the Billy Herman Park baseball field and surrounding park.

Volunteers who would like to participate can earn up to four hours of community service and will receive a Day of Service T-shirt.
