Statewide conference to explore reciprocity in community and university partnerships8th November 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Nov. 8, 2011) – The most effective university and community partnerships are a two-way street. How do we define best practices in building strong, reciprocal partnerships? What roles do such partnerships play in addressing the Hoosier Brain Drain? Faculty, students, staff, and the community can be part of the conversation during the University Partnerships and Reciprocity Conference from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14. Participants can attend the conference in person at IUPUI or can join in via video conference from IU campuses across the state, including IU Southeast.

IU campuses to participate in nationwide Emergency Alert System test Wednesday8th November 2011

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana University campuses will participate on Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the first Emergency Alert System nationwide test as conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Communications Commission. IU Emergency Management and Continuity staff at each IU campus will send an email message using IU-Notify, the university’s emergency alert system, at 2 p.m. to faculty, staff and students in coordination with the national test.

IU Southeast School of Business ranked among top-tier schools for 2nd year in a row24th October 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Oct. 24, 2011) – The Indiana University Southeast School of Business has again been ranked as a top-tier business school. IU Southeast moved up 30 spots in the 2012 listing of “Best Business Schools” by US News and World Report. This ranking places IU Southeast’s undergraduate business programs among the top 15 percent in the country.

Financial aid mini-conference can help “finance your future”11th October 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Oct. 11, 2011) – Solve the paying for college puzzle at Indiana University Southeast. “Financing Your Future,” a mini-conference hosted by the IU Southeast Office of Financial Aid, is designed to help parents and students figure out how to make college more affordable. The “Financing Your Future” mini-conference will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the IU Southeast Conference Center.

IU Southeast celebrates Constitution Day with colloquium14th September 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Sept. 14, 2011) – When celebrating First Amendment rights, it is easy to forget the five liberties given more than 200 years ago. The Indiana University Southeast Civil Liberties Union values these freedoms and is hosting a colloquium in honor of Constitution Day to help remember the value and importance of these liberties for Americans today. The colloquium will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15, in the IU Southeast Library. It will focus on the First Amendment as it pertains to the free exercise clause and the establishment clause.

IU Southeast welcomes 70th class during new student induction26th August 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Aug. 26, 2011) – IU Southeast welcomed its latest class to campus at the annual Student Induction Ceremony Friday.The incoming freshmen are the 70th class at the University, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. New students – including freshmen and transfers – were welcomed to campus on Friday by faculty, administration, and fellow students.

Get a taste of Indiana brews at the Ogle Center’s 2011 Bier Prost4th August 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Aug. 4, 2011) – The Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at Indiana University Southeast will showcase the Hoosier Art of Brewing through a tasting of the finest beers and wines from local breweries and wineries throughout the state of Indiana at the 2001 Bier Prost. The Bier Prost will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at Horseshoe Casino Indiana. The event is a fundraiser for the Ogle Center and will offer local wines and craft beer from regional breweries paired with international foods. Guests will receive a limited edition tasting mug.
