IU Southeast School of Business ranked among top-tier schools for 2nd year in a row

24th October 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Oct. 24, 2011) – The Indiana University Southeast School of Business has again been ranked as a top-tier business school.

IU Southeast moved up 30 spots in the 2012 listing of “Best Business Schools” by US News and World Report.  This ranking places IU Southeast’s undergraduate business programs among the top 15 percent in the country.

For the undergraduate business school rankings, U.S. News surveyed deans and senior faculty at each undergraduate business program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).  AACSB is the top business school accrediting body in the world and IU Southeast has held this accreditation since the inception of its business programs.

This is one of the latest recognitions for the School of Business which currently has the highest ranked part-time M.B.A. program – 9th in the nation – of the Greater Louisville region according to BusinessWeek.  IU Southeast’s M.B.A. program is also ranked 2nd in the nation for post-MBA outcomes.

“The formats of the rankings by U.S. News and BusinessWeek are very different,” according to Jay White, Dean of the School of Business.  “The BusinessWeek ranking is a more in-depth analysis of our programs, including a detailed survey of our program graduates.  What the U.S. News ranking, and the improvement, shows is that we are also moving up in stature as our peers see us.  That’s important for many reasons, including the recruitment of top faculty.”
