IU Southeast School of Business Offers Workshop for Local Entrepreneurs

14th September 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Sept. 12, 2011) – Developing great entrepreneurial skills takes work, time, and creative thinking. In a workshop offered by the School of Business at Indiana University Southeast, interested entrepreneurs can strengthen their skills while designing their own business plan.

The IU Southeast School of Business and the Regional Economic Development Resource Center (REDRC) are hosting “Building Your Entrepreneurial Skills: Prepare a Roadmap to Success.”

The eight-week program will meet from 5:45-8:45 p.m. on Mondays, Sept. 19 – Nov. 14, in University Center North, room 122 at IU Southeast.

The non-credit workshop is a “no-pressure” environment geared toward current business owners and managers, recently displaced workers, or anyone who wonders if they have what it takes to bring their entrepreneurial vision to life.

Throughout the course, budding entrepreneurs and established business owners will have the opportunity to explore and develop the skills necessary to build or grow their own businesses. Participants will go through a step-by-step process to build a business plan which will serve as the entrepreneur’s roadmap to success.

Mike Breazeale, assistant professor of marketing at IU Southeast, will facilitate the workshop, guiding participants through some of the pitfalls and successes that entrepreneurs face. Participants will benefit from interaction with their fellow entrepreneurs and the selected printed materials, as well as hearing about Breazeale’s personal experience as the owner of several successful business ventures.

The registration fee, which includes all materials, is $79. For more information, visit www.ius.edu/business or contact Mike Breazeale at mbreazea@ius.edu or (812) 941-2523.
