2011 IU Southeast Commencement to be held May 95th May 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN, (May 5, 2011) – Indiana University Southeast’s largest graduating class will become the school’s newest alumni at the 43rd Commencement next week. Commencement ceremonies will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, May 9, at the IU Southeast Amphitheater. The Class of 2011 is made up of 1,151 students, including 1,104 who will receive their degrees from IU on Monday and 47 who will receive their degrees at a separate ceremony held by Purdue University College of Technology.

IU Southeast volunteers prep for local park cleanup31st March 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (March 31, 2011) – IU Southeast volunteers are tackling local park cleanup for the annual Day of Service. The Grenadier Outstanding Leadership Development Program (GOLD) and the IU Southeast Student Government Association are sponsoring this year’s Day of Service clean up and beautification of Billy Herman Park in downtown New Albany.

IU Southeast faculty to host Oral History Workshop at Jeffersonville Library23rd February 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Feb. 22, 2011) – Learn how to help keep history alive at the Community Oral History Workshop. Dr. Carl E. Kramer, director of the Institute for Local and Oral History at Indiana University Southeast and a long-time historian of southern Indiana and the Greater Louisville Metropolitan Region, will conduct an oral history workshop at the Jeffersonville Township Public Library from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Feb. 24.

World-renowned economist Arthur Laffer to speak at IU Southeast1st February 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Feb. 1, 2011) – The “Father of Supply Side Economics” will share his business sense with Indiana University Southeast during the second annual Sanders Speaker Series. Arthur B. Laffer will be the keynote speaker at 6 p.m., Feb. 22, at the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at IU Southeast. Laffer is a world-renowned economist and the founder and chairman of Laffer Associates and Laffer Investments. He was deemed the “The Father of Supply-Side Economics” for his work contributing to a world-wide tax-cutting movement in the 1980s.
