IU Southeast and Bellarmine University partner to host free artist symposium4th November 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Nov. 4, 2013) – Indiana University Southeast and Bellarmine University have joined forces to bring 10 international artists and curators to share their works and paint a picture on where they find their inspiration. The symposium is entitled “Ephemeral Art and Practice,” and kicks off at IU Southeast on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Recital Hall at the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center.

Student pioneer for First Amendment rights to visit IU Southeast3rd October 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Oct. 3, 2013) – At 13 years old, Mary Beth Tinker took a stand against the Vietnam War. She and her friends and family wore black armbands to school. Her choice led to a landmark Supreme Court case defending students’ rights to free speech and expression. Almost 50 years later, Tinker is still taking her story on the road and Indiana University Southeast is her next stop.

Arts at IU Southeast receive generous boost from alumni donors30th May 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN, (May 30, 2013) – Indiana University Southeast announced yesterday a $655,000 gift to benefit the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on campus. The generous gift will go to the Ogle Center Endowment Fund which helps support the Ogle Center’s production of cultural and educational programs and also enables the Center to subsidize ticket prices ensuring performances remain affordable and accessible for the community.

Cheers to the Ogle Center Bier Prost 201316th March 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN, (March 16, 2013) – Raise your glass for the Paul W. Ogle Center’s Bier Prost 2013. The Ogle Center at Indiana University Southeast will host its annual Bier Prost at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 21. The event will be held at Horseshoe Southern Indiana, and include beer and wine, international food, and live entertainment.

“Hamlet” takes the stage at IU Southeast7th March 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN, (March 7, 2013) – Get ready for a ghostly good time when “Hamlet” premieres at Indiana University Southeast this weekend. The IU Southeast Theatre Department is producing the Shakespearean classic March 7-10 and March 14-17 at the Robinson Theater in the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at IU Southeast. Directed by Daniel R. Hill, adjunct lecturer in theatre, the show features IU Southeast junior Mitch Donahue as Hamlet.

Baseball executive Billy Beane to speak at IU Southeast31st January 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Jan. 31, 2013) – Oakland A’s general manager and the subject of Moneyball is heading to Indiana University Southeast to share his innovative style of management and “Moneyball” methodology. Billy Beane will be the keynote speaker for the annual Sanders Speaker Series at 6 p.m., Feb. 12, at the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at IU Southeast.
