Regional economic impact workshops offered at eight locations across state17th June 2011

INDIANAPOLIS — Budgets are tight. Good decisions are critical. A series of regional workshops designed to provide tools and techniques to measure economic impact can help community leaders determine the best investments for their communities’ economic future. Conducted at locations across Indiana this summer, the series’ next workshop will take place in New Albany.

IU Southeast workshop teaches teens how to build business2nd June 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (May 20, 2011) – Teens can get a jumpstart on beginning their own business during an upcoming workshop sponsored by Indiana University Southeast.

Teens can identify and develop their entrepreneurial skills at the Youth/Adult Mentor Entrepreneur Workshop, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from June 9 to Aug. 3, at the YMCA of Southern Indiana, 33 State Street in New Albany.

IU Southeast presents Mid-Year Economic Update4th May 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (May 4, 2011) – The Indiana University Southeast School of Business is offering students, faculty, and residents of the community an opportunity to learn more about their local economy. The Mid-Year Economic Update, sponsored by the Southern Indiana Business Source and the School of Business, will be held at 8 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, in the Hoosier Room at IU Southeast. A networking breakfast preceding the presentation begins at 7 a.m.

World-renowned economist Arthur Laffer to speak at IU Southeast1st February 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Feb. 1, 2011) – The “Father of Supply Side Economics” will share his business sense with Indiana University Southeast during the second annual Sanders Speaker Series. Arthur B. Laffer will be the keynote speaker at 6 p.m., Feb. 22, at the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at IU Southeast. Laffer is a world-renowned economist and the founder and chairman of Laffer Associates and Laffer Investments. He was deemed the “The Father of Supply-Side Economics” for his work contributing to a world-wide tax-cutting movement in the 1980s.
