Dean's Message
Welcome to the IU Southeast and the School of Natural Sciences!
The School of Natural Sciences offers a wide variety of degree programs, minors, and certificates that all support education in critical STEM fields. Courses and programs are offered in-person, online, and in hybrid formats. A big emphasis is placed on hands-on, experiential learning with class-based projects, extensive laboratory experiences, field experiences, and even opportunities for study abroad.
Our caring faculty and staff are dedicated to student learning and success, respecting each student as an individual bringing their unique perspective to our school. Natural Sciences faculty are known for innovation in the classroom, where in-class research projects, local field trips, presentation opportunities, and service learning all contribute to a rich educational experience. There are many opportunities for student research, both in and out of the classroom, which often culminate in presentations at scientific conferences.
These diverse experiences prepare our graduates for success in the workforce, in graduate school, and in professional school. We are proud of our alumni and all they do to bring the benefits of a natural sciences education to their communities and the world.
If you have questions about any of our programs, or ideas to share with us, please call 812-941-2284 or email natsci@iu.edu.
Sincerely,
Pamela L. Connerly
