New Vice Chancellor of Advancement to assume duties Feb. 2

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (Jan. 29, 2014) – Indiana University Southeast officials announce that Betty Russo, of Temple, PA, has been appointed to the position of Vice Chancellor for Advancement, following a national search to fill the position.

Russo was the vice president for development and the chief operating officer at the East Stroudsburg University Foundation in East Stroudsburg, PA from 2010 until her acceptance of the Vice Chancellor position at IU Southeast in late 2014. She was responsible for leadership, management and coordination of accounting, alumni engagement, finance and fundraising. Betty also developed and implemented programs, provided corporation and foundation support in addition to other responsibilities.

Before working at the East Stroudsburg University Foundation, Russo was the senior development officer at Albright College in Reading, PA from 2009 to 2010. She was responsible for planning and implementing programs, management, events, database administration and gift processing.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Albright College, and she expects to earn a Master’s degree in 2015 from Alvernia University. She is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.

Russo will assume her duties at IU Southeast on February 2. Please join us in congratulating her on her appointment and welcoming her to the campus community.
