Medal of Honor recipient to share story with IU Southeast20th April 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (April 20, 2012) – World War II veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Marine Corporal Hershel “Woody” Williams will share his war stories and how he earned the Medal of Honor with Indiana University Southeast and the community during Victory Week. Williams’ presentation will be from 6-7 p.m., April 26, in the Stem Theater at the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center, as part of the Student Veterans Organization’s Victory Week.

IU Southeast to honor veterans with memorial service, concert4th November 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (Nov. 4, 2011) – Remembering those who have fought for our nation is sometimes easier said than done. However, Indiana University Southeast will be taking time this month to honor those who have protected our country. Several events have been planned at IU Southeast in honor of Veterans Day, including a memorial service, luncheon, and concert.

Marine shares his Path to Peace during visit at IU Southeast27th April 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (April 27, 2011) – U.S. Marine and author Rye Barcott will bring his message of making a difference to IU Southeast today. Barcott, a Marine who served in Iraq, is also the co-founder of Carolina For Kibera (CFK) with Tabitha Atieno Festo and Salim Mohamed and the author of the memoir It Happened on the Way to War: A Marine’s Path to Peace. He will speak at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, in the IU Southeast Library.
