Indiana public smoking ban reinforces IU Southeast tobacco-free policy28th June 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (June 28, 2012) – Help keep IU Southeast a healthy place to learn, work, and live. On July 1st, 2012, Indiana’s House Enrolled Act 1149 effectively makes nearly all public places in Indiana – including university campuses – smoke free. IU Southeast has been a tobacco-free campus since 2007; however, the new law makes smoking in IU Southeast buildings or within 8 feet of a building entrance an illegal or citable offense.
