IU Southeast Homecoming Week Begins Feb. 44th February 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Feb. 4, 2013) – The Grenadier men’s and women’s basketball teams host St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday, Feb. 9 as part of the University’s Homecoming Weekend. The festivities tip off at 2 p.m. when the Grenadier women’s basketball team hits the court. That game is followed by the men’s game at 4 p.m. Fans are encouraged to “White Out” the Activities Building by wearing white to the game.

Baseball executive Billy Beane to speak at IU Southeast31st January 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Jan. 31, 2013) – Oakland A’s general manager and the subject of Moneyball is heading to Indiana University Southeast to share his innovative style of management and “Moneyball” methodology. Billy Beane will be the keynote speaker for the annual Sanders Speaker Series at 6 p.m., Feb. 12, at the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at IU Southeast.

Two IU Southeast interns nominated for Intern of the Year29th January 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Jan. 29, 2013) – Two Indiana University Southeast student interns have been nominated by their employers as Intern of the Year by the Indiana INTERNnet IMPACT Awards. John Berlejung, B.S., 12, and Alexandra Brown are among the 30 finalists for three intern awards and will be recognized Feb. 6 at the 7th Annual IMPACT Awards Luncheon at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art located in downtown Indianapolis

Don McMahel, IU Southeast’s first music director, passes away at 8214th January 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Jan. 14, 2013) – Don McMahel loved music, and he made it his lifelong commitment to share that love with his students. For more than 50 years, he shared his passion with students ranging from elementary school to college. McMahel, 82, died Jan. 10, at his home after an illness. His legacy will live on in the hundreds of musicians he touched throughout his career.
