Danger Run owner, recent IU Southeast grad, puts heart (and horror) into his jobs25th October 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Oct. 25, 2012) – As night falls, Michael Book (B.S. ’11) takes off his rubber gloves after performing heart surgery. It’s time for his night job, where the IU Southeast alum may just end up with more blood on his hands.

Sure, the daytime heart surgeries are on mice and the nighttime blood is a mixture of corn syrup and red food coloring, but Book doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty.

As somewhat of a modern-day Jekyll and Hyde, Book spends his days researching cardiology at the University of Louisville and his nights scaring the Louisville region as co-owner of the Danger Run haunted house scavenger hunt.

Visit the IU Southeast Fall Festival for family fun, food, and games26th September 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Sept. 26, 2012) – The Indiana University Southeast Fall Festival is flipping out this season with new entertainment and a new location. Still on the IU Southeast campus, but moved to the amphitheater behind the Ogle Center, the annual festival, from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, is the kickoff to Harvest Homecoming and features fun for the whole family.

Watkins named president of IU Southeast Alumni Association17th July 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (July 17, 2012) – Indiana University Southeast alumnus John Watkins has been named the new president of the IU Southeast Alumni Association (IUSAA) for 2012-13. Watkins, who will lead the IUSAA Board of Directors, graduated from IU Southeast in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. He has worked at New Hope Services, Inc. since 1981 and is currently the support services manager.

IU Southeast Alumni Association offers $10,000 in student scholarships3rd July 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (July 3, 2012) – The alumni of Indiana University Southeast are “passing it forward” with the introduction of six new scholarships for IU Southeast students. The IU Southeast Alumni Association will award a $1,000 scholarship to one student in each of the University’s six schools or divisions. In addition, the Association will once again provide four student athletes with a $1,000 scholarship – an annual gift awarded by the Association. The scholarships are available for the 2012-13 school year.

IU Southeast Alumni Association presents Night at the Bats11th July 2011

NEW ALBANY, IN (July 8, 2011) – Bring on the peanuts, popcorn, and Cracker Jack for IU Southeast Alumni Association’s annual Night at the Bats baseball game. Alumni of the University are invited to bring the entire family to watch as the Louisville Bats take on the Charlotte Knights on Friday, July 22 at Louisville Slugger Field. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the game starts at 7:05 p.m.
