Hammersmith was killed Saturday night after sustaining injuries in a car accident on Highway 111 in Southern Indiana. As a member of our Board of Advisors for six years, Hammersmith was an invaluable part of our University. He served on multiple committees during his time on the Board and showed unwavering support of education and the mission of IU Southeast.
