Don McMahel, IU Southeast’s first music director, passes away at 8214th January 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Jan. 14, 2013) – Don McMahel loved music, and he made it his lifelong commitment to share that love with his students. For more than 50 years, he shared his passion with students ranging from elementary school to college. McMahel, 82, died Jan. 10, at his home after an illness. His legacy will live on in the hundreds of musicians he touched throughout his career.

Kappa Delta Pi shows the true meaning of giving2nd January 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Jan. 2, 2013) – During the holiday season, everyone could use a little help – even Santa. Mr. Claus could rest easily this past year, knowing that IU Southeast’s Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) Society and Viviant helped provide gifts to a few families this Christmas. Every year since 1972, around mid-November, Kappa Delta Pi accepts applications from IU Southeast students who are in need during the holiday season.

2012 IU Southeast holiday hours14th December 2012

NEW ALBANY,IN, (Dec. 14, 2012) – Indiana University Southeast will be open during winter break, but individual offices will operate on varying hours. Finals for the fall 2012 semester end Saturday, Dec. 15. The IU Southeast campus will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.

IU Board of Trustees now accepting applications for student trustee position11th December 2012

“A Leahy Family Christmas” brings holiday cheer to Ogle Center10th December 2012

Duke Energy creates endowed scholarship honoring Kevin Hammersmith for IU Southeast7th December 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Dec. 7, 2012) – Indiana University Southeast is honored to announce the creation of the Kevin Nelson Hammersmith scholarship in partnership with Duke Energy through the Duke Energy Foundation. The University held a luncheon Monday, Dec. 3, to introduce the scholarship and honor Hammersmith, a former Duke Energy employee and IU Southeast Board of Advisors member.
