IU Southeast Writing Project sponsors author night with Jacqueline Woodson22nd January 2014

NEW ALBANY, IN (Jan. 22, 2014) – The IU Southeast Writing Project is bringing Newbery award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson to speak to students and teachers in southern Indiana. Woodson, recipient of the Margaret A. Edwards Award for Lifetime Achievement and winner of three Newbery Honor Medals, will be speaking at Scribner Middle School as part of the “Authors as Artists” event. The discussion will take place from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23.

IU Southeast vice chancellor reunites with former professor2nd January 2014

It was not common for Jason Meriwether, vice chancellor for enrollment management and student affairs, to ever receive anything lower than an A in writing courses during his academic career. “I was a really great writer when I was in high school,” Meriwether said. “I think I had one of the best portfolios in my school and in my state, when I got to [University of] Louisville I really didn’t think there was anyone who could tell me I couldn’t write.”

Students fired up about new kiln at IU Southeast26th December 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Dec. 26, 2013) – Giant life-like cardboard structures, an art gallery that reinvents itself nearly every month, and tiny 3D-prints of individual students and faculty. Most, if not all, students have become familiar with these notorious pieces created by the IU Southeast art department, and now Brian Harper, assistant professor of fine arts, with the help of the advanced ceramics class, built a new kiln to help create even more eclectic new works that students and faculty alike can appreciate.

IU Southeast police searching for new cadets20th December 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Dec. 20, 2013) – Indiana University Southeast is looking for a good cadet. The Indiana University Police Department is continuing the Cadet/Officer Program at the IU Southeast campus for its third year. The program gives current students the ability to gain law enforcement experience while working at the University Police department.
