IU Southeast athletic department launches revamped website2nd August 2012

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (Aug. 2, 2012) – The IU Southeast athletic department is pleased to announce the launch of the updated athletic department website at www.iusathletics.com. The site’s new features include a news ticker at the top of the page to keep all our Grenadier fans informed of recent scores and news. It also features eye-catching photo displays and a new schedule feature that will help keep fans updated on each day’s events. Some other features include social media integration, increased video functionality, and pop-down menus for easy navigation.

IU Southeast Children’s Center aiming for state license1st August 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Aug. 1, 2012) – The Indiana University Southeast Children’s Center is seeking to upgrade to a state-licensed facility. The Children’s Center is applying for a state license which will allow for additional funding and educational opportunities for the center and its users. The process is underway and the center is hoping to receive the license by September.

Watkins named president of IU Southeast Alumni Association17th July 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (July 17, 2012) – Indiana University Southeast alumnus John Watkins has been named the new president of the IU Southeast Alumni Association (IUSAA) for 2012-13. Watkins, who will lead the IUSAA Board of Directors, graduated from IU Southeast in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. He has worked at New Hope Services, Inc. since 1981 and is currently the support services manager.

IU Southeast Alumni Association offers $10,000 in student scholarships3rd July 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (July 3, 2012) – The alumni of Indiana University Southeast are “passing it forward” with the introduction of six new scholarships for IU Southeast students. The IU Southeast Alumni Association will award a $1,000 scholarship to one student in each of the University’s six schools or divisions. In addition, the Association will once again provide four student athletes with a $1,000 scholarship – an annual gift awarded by the Association. The scholarships are available for the 2012-13 school year.

IU Southeast parking policies to change July 129th June 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (June 28, 2012) – On July 1, 2012, IU Southeast will implement changes to its University parking policy. Daily parking passes (available for $1 per day to visitors and those without a permit) will be valid in the red zone (student parking) at any time. Daily passes will only be valid in the blue zone (faculty and staff parking) after 6 p.m. or on weekends.

Indiana public smoking ban reinforces IU Southeast tobacco-free policy28th June 2012

NEW ALBANY, IN, (June 28, 2012) – Help keep IU Southeast a healthy place to learn, work, and live. On July 1st, 2012, Indiana’s House Enrolled Act 1149 effectively makes nearly all public places in Indiana – including university campuses – smoke free. IU Southeast has been a tobacco-free campus since 2007; however, the new law makes smoking in IU Southeast buildings or within 8 feet of a building entrance an illegal or citable offense.
