IU Southeast Men’s Tennis Team To Host Military Day Sept. 25

12th September 2012

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast men’s tennis team is hosting a Military Day to honor all active-duty and former members of the military to thank them for their service.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 25 during the Grenadiers’ match against the College of Mount St. Joseph.  The match begins at 4 p.m.

The tennis team will host members of the 387th Military Police Company of the Indiana National Guard, based out of the New Albany Armory.

Members of the company will be deployed to Afghanistan in January to help train the Afghan police force.

The IU Southeast tennis team will be wearing camouflage shirts during the match against the College of Mount St. Joseph.   The team will also be selling shirts as part of a fundraiser.  Members of the military can purchase shirts for a discounted price with a military ID. Donations will be accepted to benefit the local VFW and American Legion posts.

The IU Southeast athletic department invites all active-duty or former members of the military, and their families to the match on Sept. 25.
