Students commit to volunteering for MLK Day of Service

13th January 2017

NEW ALBANY — A day off for most students is a day of community service for others.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, several Indiana University Southeast students will volunteer around New Albany and Louisville. On Monday, Jan. 16, while campus will be closed for the holiday, IU Southeast students will participate in the annual MLK Day of Service around New Albany and Louisville.

Students will load onto busses on campus at 10 a.m. and travel to volunteer at Autumn Woods Health Campus (New Albany), Boys and Girls Club (New Albany), Our Place Drug and Alcohol Services (New Albany) and Harbor House in Louisville from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students will then be transported back to campus for lunch.

The event is sponsored by the IU Southeast Office of Campus Life, the 21st Century Scholar program and IU Southeast Volunteer Programs. For more information, contact the Office of Campus Life at 812-941-2316.
