NEW ALBANY, Ind. – For the first time ever, the Indiana State Board of Education will hold a work session and a business meeting on the IU Southeast campus.

The work session will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. May 31, 2016, in the Paul W. Ogle Center. It will be the Board’s first work session this year. Topics discussed will be Indiana Standards Tools for Alternate Reporting (ISTAR) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

The business meeting will be held at 9 a.m. June 1, 2016, in the Paul W. Ogle Center. It will be the Board’s first meeting outside of Indianapolis this year.

Both meetings are open to the public.

Each year, the Board hosts two regular business meetings across the state. The May 31 and June 1 sessions mark the first time this Board has hosted a meeting in New Albany and also the first time the Board has hosted a meeting on a regional campus of IU. Last year, the Board held a meeting at IU Bloomington on Aug. 5, 2015.
