Honors student Sydney Seger Named KIAC Player of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Freshman third baseman Sydney Seger was named the KIAC Player of the Week, the KIAC announced Monday.

Seger, an Evansville Mater Dei product, hit .455 (10-for-22) during the week with one home run, four doubles and eight RBI. She also scored six runs.

The Grenadiers (24-11, 11-1 KIAC) went 6-0 last week with doubleheader sweeps of Midway College, Oakland City and Asbury University, which pushed their winning streak to 14-straight games. IU Southeast has not lost since March 19 when it dropped a 6-2 decision to Rio Grande.

She ranks No. 19 in the NAIA with 14 doubles which leads the conference. She also leads the conference with 47 hits. Seger ranks third in the KIAC with a .435 batting average.
