Seven Grenadier student-athletes achieve a 4.0 GPA in fall semester

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Seven IU Southeast student-athletes achieved a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester, earning spots on the Fall 2015 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll released Monday, Jan. 11.

Fifty-five student-athletes (54 percent of the department) qualified for the honor roll by having a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher. Four athletic programs attained GPAs of 3.0 or higher, led by softball with a team GPA of 3.332.

Brooke Barnett (softball), Mary Dye (women’s basketball), Katie Fischer (volleyball), Michaela Harris (women’s basketball), Sydney Seger (softball), Nick Tinsley (men’s basketball) and Emily Weiss (softball) earned 4.0 GPAs in the fall of 2015.

“I couldn’t be any happier to see so many of our student-athletes succeeding in the classroom,” said Director of Athletics Joe Glover. “Student-athletes juggle very rigorous schedules. It is a true testament to their individual efforts when they can successfully balance academics and athletics.”
