Ja’Net Adams, financial literacy speaker and author, will speak to IU Southeast students, faculty and staff on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in the IU Southeast Library.

Adams will speak to IU Southeast students from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., and she will speak to IU Southeast faculty and staff from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

During her lectures, Adams will discuss financial literacy skills and tips students can use to overcome debt.

“I think that every college student has a dream that can change the world, and I want to make sure debt doesn’t keep them from making those dreams a reality,” Adams said.

The first 25 students to attend Adams’s lecture will each receive a free copy of her book, “Debt Sucks!: A College Student’s Guide To Winning With Money So They Can Live Their Dreams!” The book provides tips college students can use – during and after college – to pay off student loans and other debt.

Adams has given financial literacy lectures and workshops across the country, and she has spoken to thousands of students. Her advice has been featured in USA Today College, BBC.com, Black Business Ink, Campus Programming Magazine and other media outlets and publications.
