More than 100 designs were submitted, but Manning’s purple and gold crest featuring an abstract representation of the Louisville skyline, a bourbon barrel and fleur de lis, stood apart from the other entries.

Manning will receive a $500 stipend, two polo shirts featuring the team’s new logo, and two tickets to the Louisville City Football Club’s inaugural game for his winning design.

The minor league club will begin play in 2015 at Louisville Slugger Field.
