IU Southeast SHRM group hosting Human Resource conferences

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Sept. 11, 2013) – The Society for Human Resource Management is again partnering with Indiana University Southeast for the 15th Annual Human Resources Labor & Employment Series for 2013-2014.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest human resources association, with more than 250,000 members in more than 140 countries, SHRM serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession.

The student SHRM group at IU Southeast partnered with the larger organization to put on the year-long series. Sessions begin Sept. 13 and will cover various HR-related topics including the Affordable Health Care Act, Military Leave Issues, Employment Law, Immigration Law, Unpaid Internships, and more. There are eight sessions total.

The workshops are geared toward human resources professionals, as well as college students and faculty from any area university. However, everyone is welcome to attend.

Workshops are $20 each or $120 for all eight sessions for professionals, but are free for college students and faculty.

Registration and check-in is at 7:30 a.m. A continental breakfast will be provided before each workshop from 7:30-8 a.m. Each workshop begins at 8 a.m. and continues until 9:15 a.m. Please RSVP to davisasc@ius.edu. For more information, please contact the School of Business at (812) 941-2362.
