Student Development Center at IU Southeast receives national recognition

16th August 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Aug. 16, 2013) – The Student Development Center at Indiana University Southeast was recently awarded Test Center Certification by the National College Testing Association (NCTA).

The NCTA said the Student Development Center “has set the bar high for other post-secondary test centers and achieved national status as a leader in excellent testing practices.”

To receive the designation, testing centers must pass a rigorous set of criteria based on the NCTA Professional Standards and Guideline developed to guide such testing. The Student Development Center is one of the few test centers in the United States and Canada to have completed this intensive certification process.

“NCTA criteria required looking at every aspect of our center’s testing services, and that discipline helped us create a very complete set of procedures and practices to ensure a fair and secure testing environment,” said Doug Denton, coordinator of the Student Development Center.

The Student Development Center was recognized for “maintaining high test administration standards and for providing excellent service to a wide variety of students and community members in the performance of their duties.”

NCTA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting high quality service in the administration of testing programs. Members include more than 1,750 testing professionals from 615 colleges and universities as well as 42 test companies and organizations offering test-related products and services.
