2nd August 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (Aug. 2, 2013) – The IU Southeast athletic department and 1450 The Sports Buzz WXVW have announced plans to produce a weekly radio show on Monday nights focused solely on IU Southeast athletics. WXVW 1450 will also broadcast selected men’s and women’s basketball games throughout the 2013-14 season.

The Grenadier Sports Report will air on Monday nights from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 9. The show will continue every week throughout the year and finish up in early May.

The show will broadcast live each week from Tucker’s American Favorites, 2441 State Street in New Albany.

Veteran Southern Indiana broadcaster Matt Denison, the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association’s 2013 outstanding baseball media winner, will host the program. He will be joined by Grenadier coaches, student-athletes and administrators to discuss everything that is happening in IU Southeast sports.

“I’m really excited for the opportunity to work with the coaches and student-athletes of IU Southeast,” Denison said. “This weekly program is an opportunity to showcase all the great things that the Grenadier athletic program is accomplishing right here in our backyard.”

WXVW 1450 is a 24/7 sports station featuring a top sports talk double feature in The Dan Patrick Show and The Jim Rome Show. The 1,000-watt station covers the Louisville Metro area.

“I am thrilled that IU Southeast is able to partner with one of the most historic radio stations in the state to broadcast both The Grenadier Sports Report and various basketball games this season,” said Joe Glover, IU Southeast athletic director. “WXVW is committed to broadcasting local sports and we are happy to add to that tradition and while serving our fan’s interest throughout Southern Indiana.

WXVW 1450 is quickly becoming known as the local sports leader in Southern Indiana.

“We are excited to bring coverage of such a successful, local collegiate athletics program to the area listeners as part of our mission to restore the station’s heritage as Southern Indiana’s sports leader,” said Dugan Ryan, WXVW 1450 owner and general manager. “Great things are taking place at IU Southeast, and we’re happy to now be closely associated with Joe Glover and his entire coaching staff.”

WXVW 1450 is owned and operated by Ryan Media, LLC.

IU Southeast and WXVW 1450 will announce the complete radio broadcast schedule for men’s and women’s basketball at a later date this fall.

All home men’s and women’s basketball games as well as volleyball matches will also be streamed online at iusathletics.com for the second straight season.
