Dirt Bags to display student work at fine arts open house

NEW ALBANY, IN, (April 17, 2013) – The Dirt Bags Art Club is hosting the 5th Annual IU Southeast Fine Arts Open House to show off the latest work from fine arts students.

On display will be works produced by students in various mediums including ceramics, painting, sculpture, graphic design, digital media, printmaking, and photography.

open-house-cardfrontThe festivities are held for one night only, from 5-8 p.m., Friday, April 19, in Knobview Hall.

In addition to the displays, there will also be live music and student-led art demonstrations. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a global public art project called “Before I Die.” The “Before I Die” project includes a chalkboard wall where guests are invited to share personal reflections and aspirations with the community through a simple prompt of “Before I die, I want to…”

The open house is free and the public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

The Dirt Bags Art Club is a student organization created to encourage growth and development of artists through social interaction.
