Barr Gallery at IU Southeast to host “Transition Points” exhibition

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Aug. 28, 2012) – The Barr Gallery at Indiana University Southeast is hosting an opening reception for its first display of the 2012-13 exhibition season.

“Transition Points” featuring works from Lisa Walcott, Linda Lopez, Terrence Campagna, and Matthew McConnell will run from Aug. 30 through Oct. 4, 2012. The opening reception will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, in the Barr Gallery in Knobview Hall.

The show includes works from various mediums ranging from photography to installation. It explores the work of the four diverse artists who each use perceptual and cognitive transition points as a means for generating new form and content.

In addition, the artists will lecture on the IU Southeast campus as part of the exhibit. Walcott will present at the opening reception; Campagna will lecture at 1:15 p.m., Sept. 4; and Lopez and McConnell will speak at 1:30 p.m., Oct. 4.

The exhibit is curated by Brian Harper, assistant professor of fine art and Barr Gallery coordinator. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday.
