NEW ALBANY, IN, (June 18, 2011) – And we’re off!

The Indiana University Southeast Alumni Association is hosting the annual IU Southeast Alumni Day at the Races on Saturday, June 23, at Churchill Downs.

The gates to the world’s most legendary racetrack open at 11:30 a.m. and the first post is at 12:45 p.m. Tickets for the event are sold out, but about 80 people are scheduled to attend.

IU Southeast will join three other schools in racing for scholarship funding. Each school will be represented by a different horse and jockey in Race 4 with the winning rider’s school receiving a donation to their scholarship fund from Churchill Downs. Additionally, IU Southeast is sponsoring Race 7, the IU Southeast Alumni Association Classic.

Day at the Races is just one of the annual events held by the IU Southeast Alumni Association. The next scheduled event is IU Southeast Night at the Bats on Friday, July 20.
