Nassim named interim dean of the School of Natural Sciences

NEW ALBANY, IN, (June 20, 2012) – Longtime Indiana University Southeast faculty member Bahman “Ben” Nassim has been named the interim dean of the School of Natural Sciences.  

Nassim replaces outgoing dean Emmanuel Otu, who accepted a position at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Otu was dean from 2009-2012.

A chemistry professor at IU Southeast since 1982, Nassim served as Dean from 2002-2009. He received degrees in chemistry and math from the College of Emporia, in Emporia Kansas, and a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

Nassim will begin his new position July 1. The School of Natural Sciences at IU Southeast offers degree programs including biology, chemistry, clinical science, computer science, geosciences, informatics, and mathematics.
