IU Southeast Wins Third-Straight KIAC Commissioner’s Cup

 LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 2, 2011) – The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) announced today that Indiana University Southeast has won the 2010-11 KIAC Commissioner’s Cup for a third consecutive year.

The winner of the Commissioner’s Cup is determined based upon an average of a team’s regular season performance. IU Southeast won five of its seven regular season sport titles this past year and finished as conference runner-up in one sport. The Grenadiers were conference regular season champions in men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, softball and women’s tennis.

IU Southeast averaged 9.57 points under the Commissioner Cup scoring system, beating out Asbury College at 8.07 and Brescia University at 7.07.

“Winning this award for three consecutive years is a tremendous honor for our University,” said IU Southeast Athletic Director Joe Glover. “As the KIAC Commissioner’s Cup signifies, we had a very successful year in competition. Our student-athletes have worked very hard this past year and I am very proud of the pride they bring to IU Southeast.”
