IU Southeast to celebrate Grenadiers’ final four run

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (March 18, 2013) – Indiana University Southeast will host a celebration of the men’s basketball team’s run to the NAIA Final Four at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, in Hoosier Room East on the New Albany campus. The Grenadiers defeated Valley City State (N.D.), St. Xavier (Ill.), and College of the Ozarks (Mo.) en route to the first Final Four appearance in school history.

Grenadiers face Cardinal Stritch for trip to national championship game

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. (March 10, 2013) – The no.11 seeded IU Southeast Grenadiers will face second-seeded Cardinal Stritch on Monday night at 9 p.m. with a trip to the NAIA National championship game on the line.

IU Southeast Homecoming Week Begins Feb. 4

NEW ALBANY, IN (Feb. 4, 2013) - The Grenadier men's and women's basketball teams host St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday, Feb. 9 as part of the University's Homecoming Weekend. The festivities tip off at 2 p.m. when the Grenadier women's basketball team hits the court. That game is followed by the men's game at 4 p.m. Fans are encouraged to "White Out" the Activities Building by wearing white to the game.

Farris to coach 700th game at IU Southeast Saturday

NEW ALBANY, IN (Nov. 28, 2012) - Robin Farris, IU Southeast women's basketball head coach, is coaching his 700th game at IU Southeast on Saturday when the Grenadiers host Carlow University at 1 p.m. Farris is in his 24th season at IU Southeast, and his 412 wins ranks ninth in the NAIA among active coaches. He has led the Grenadiers to 18 KIAC regular-season and tournament titles and seven NAIA tournament appearances.

IU Southeast-IU East matchup named NAIA Game of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (Feb. 16, 2012) - The NAIA has selected tonight's IU Southeast vs. IU East game as the NAIA Division II Game of the Week. This matchup of two teams ranked in the top-20 in the lastest Coaches' Poll. The winner of this game will control their destiny in the race for the KIAC regular-season title.

IU Southeast basketball team donates 25 bikes to needy children

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Dec. 21, 2011) – The Indiana University Southeast men’s basketball team had a new game plan this week. Instead of focusing on stealing balls, they concentrated on giving gifts. The Grenadiers, led by Head Coach Wiley Brown, partnered with the New Albany-Floyd County Parks Department to provide brand new bicycles to 25 children in need.

Former Grenadier Jazzmarr Ferguson signs contract with Canadian basketball franchise

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Former Grenadier standout Jazzmarr Ferguson has signed a one-year contract with the Moncton (New Brunswick) Miracles of the National Basketball League of Canada. Ferguson will head north of the border sometime in October. Moncton is one of four expansion franchises in the NBL this season. The Miracles first game is Oct. 29 against Quebec.

Grenadier athletes earn NAIA All-American honors

NEW ALBANY, IN - Two IU Southeast basketball players received NAIA All-American recognition for the 2010-11 season. IU Southeast senior guard Jazzmarr Ferguson became the first IU Southeast men's basketball player to be named to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball All-America first team while IU Southeast sophomore guard Ashmere Woods received honorable mention recognition on the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball All-America team.
