NEW ALBANY, Ind. (Oct. 13, 2014) – IU Southeast Athletic Director, Joe Glover, was appointed president of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) Executive Committee, Commissioner Bill Melton announced at the league meetings on Sept. 30.

Glover will complete the term of previous president Wendy Hoffman, who resigned as athletic director at Midway College earlier this year. He previously served as the league’s president-elect and will begin his originally appointed two-year term as president during the next academic year.

The KIAC Executive Committee conducts the day-to-day business of the athletic conference, which currently has 11 member schools. The conference was established in 1916 and will be celebrating its 100th year as an intercollegiate athletic conference in 2016.

“Our conference has a tremendous amount of history, and together we have all worked to strengthen our current membership, which is evident by the recent addition of schools like Rio Grande,” Glover said. “I am looking forward to working for our conference membership to help shape the future of our league, which I believe has a bright future within the NAIA.”

Glover adds this position to a growing list of responsibilities. Earlier this year, he was named to the NAIA’s National Administrative Council (NAC),

which helps shape policies and procedures for the nearly 300 schools in the NAIA. Glover is now in his fifth year as athletic director at IU Southeast.

The next league meeting will be held in the spring of 2015 at Cincinnati Christian University in Ohio.
