NEW ALBANY, Ind. (Sept. 9, 2014) – Thought leader on the topic of disruptive innovation, Courtney O’Connell, will deliver a presentation entitled “What Happens on Campus Stays on YouTube,” to IU Southeast students.
O’Connell’s TEDx Talk “Go All in on Education,” and blog entries on The Huffington Post, have provoked a national conversation about innovation in education. In her presentation, O’Connell will address the idea that privacy, in today’s world of pervasive technology, is essentially dead.
The use of social media on campus and in the lives of students is undeniably prevalent. O’Connell will confront this phenomenon head-on, helping students discover techniques to protect their digital identity, and leverage digital tools to produce a strong, positive, digital presence.
The presentation will take place Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 12:15 p.m. in the University Center North building, room 127, on the campus of IU Southeast. O’Connell will address students from first-year seminar, journalism, speech and communication courses, as well as campus student leaders.
