Ogle Center brings blues and bluegrass to stage for 17th season

NEW ALBANY, IN (July 18, 2013) – The Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at Indiana University Southeast is proud to announce a stunning line-up of concerts for the 2013-14 season.

The fun begins this fall with illusionist Jason Bishop on Oct. 5 and up-and-coming bluegrass starlet Sierra Hull on Oct. 26. Back by popular demand, singer-songwriter Susan Werner returns with her band on Nov. 15.

The harmonious instrumentalists of Quartetto Gelato will bring their take on classical music on Feb. 21. Produced by Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi, the Official Blues Brothers Revue will bring the sound of Jake and Elwood Blues to the stage on March 14.

The season closes on April 25 with a band of bluegrass all-stars – The Boxcars.

OGLE CENTER CHILDREN’S SERIES
The Ogle Center also continues its incredibly popular Children’s Series for the 18th year. The Children’s Series and has served more than 1.5 million school children with free arts education.

This year the series showcases local treasures, Ogle Center favorites, and some fresh faces.

The Stage One performance of The House at Pooh Corner will play in September while Kentucky Shakespeare will present a child-friendly version of Hamlet in November.

Celebrate African American history with African storyteller Shanta in January and catch the premiere of the Stage One production of The Glorious Adventures of the Mighty Robin Hood in February.

Round out the season with the return of the awarding-winning “Farmer Jason’s Nature Jams” in April and the spectacular “Doktor Kaboom!” in May.
