Glover named KIAC Athletic Director of the Year

NEW ALBANY, IN (June 20, 2013) – IU Southeast Athletic Director Joe Glover has been named the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year, the conference announced Thursday.

The award is voted on by the athletic directors of the conference’s member institutions.

During the 2012-13 academic year, three IU Southeast programs (men’s basketball, softball, women’s tennis) won both of their sports KIAC regular season and tournament titles. The IU Southeast men’s basketball team advanced to the first NAIA Final Four in school history. The athletic department also hosted three conference tournaments.

Half of Grenadier student-athletes were named to the IU Southeast Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for achieving a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2012-13 school year.

“Joe Glover is a very well respected athletic director in the KIAC,” KIAC Commissioner Bill Melton said.  “He is knowledgeable of all aspects of athletic administration. Joe is eager and willing to tackle any issue and is very supportive of the conference.  I rely on him tremendously.”

Glover is currently in his eighth year with the IU Southeast Athletic Department. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration from IU Southeast in May 2013. He graduated with distinction from IU Southeast in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Business.

A native of New Albany, Ind., Glover is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and a conference representative for the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA).

This past year, Glover was also appointed as President-Elect of the KIAC Executive Committee, the highest governing body of the athletic conference, where he will serve a two-year term. Glover also has been an active volunteer on several committees for the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana (CFSI) beginning this fall.  He is also a member of the Rotary Club of New Albany.
