Money management workshop helps students save wisely

12th March 2013

NEW ALBANY, IN (March 12, 2013) – For college students, every penny, dime, quarter, and dollar matter in the long run.

To help students stay on the right financial track, Indiana University Southeast will host “It All Adds Up!” a 45-minute money management workshop at 12:20 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, in University Center South, room 122.

The workshop will discuss tips on how to safely save money, create smart savings plans, and recognize and stay away from predatory banking products.

The affordability of higher education and its return on investment is vital to graduates. IU Southeast is one of the most reasonable options for higher education in the Southern Indiana and the Greater Louisville Metropolitan Region.

In fact, data from the College Navigator, a tool made available by the National Center for Education Statistics, indicate that IU Southeast is the most affordable four-year institution in the Greater Louisville region.

Affordability is a priority across the IU system, including at IU Southeast. We are dedicated to providing quality education at a reasonable cost. In addition to substantial financial aid, IU Southeast offers financial literacy programs to teach students how to stay on track, a summer tuition discount for budget-conscious students, and scholarship opportunities that provide a break on tuition for students who graduate in four years. For more information on these programs and college affordability, please visit  affordability.iu.edu/.

The “It All Adds Up!” workshop is free, and snacks and drinks will be provided. For more information, contact Rachel Delbridge at rkynhoff@ius.edu.
