Two IU Southeast interns nominated for Intern of the Year

NEW ALBANY, IN (Jan. 29, 2013) – Two Indiana University Southeast student interns have been nominated by their employers as Intern of the Year by the Indiana INTERNnet IMPACT Awards.

John Berlejung, B.S., 12, and Alexandra Brown are among the 30 finalists for three intern awards and will be recognized Feb. 6 at the 7th Annual IMPACT Awards Luncheon at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art located in downtown Indianapolis.

Berlejung, a geosciences major from Louisville, completed a 2012 internship through the Geological Society of America at Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, Maryland as a Geosciences/soils/GIS specialist. He graduated from IU Southeast in December 2012.

Brown, a sociology major and Spanish minor from New Albany, completed a 2012 internship through the Scott County Community Foundation. A senior at IU Southeast, she was assigned to Scottsburg Middle School as an Educational Programs Coordinator.

This is the first time IU Southeast interns have been nominated for this award.
