Country artist Bobby Bare heads to Ogle Center

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Nov. 13, 2012) – Music legend Bobby Bare is bringing his blend of country music and storytelling to the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at Indiana University Southeast.

He will perform at the Ogle Center at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16 as part of the Nashville Nights series. Tickets are $26.50 or $10 for IU Southeast students.

Called the “Springsteen of Country Music” by a legendary concert promoter, Bare has more than 70 hits on the country music charts and a Grammy for Best Country recording.

Bare has worked with country legends including Skeeter Davis, Chet Atkins, Jim Reeves, Liz Anderson, Norma Jean, and Roseanne Cash.

One of his most interesting collaborations was with author and poet Shel Silverstein. The two combined for “Bobby Bare Sings Lullabys, Legends and Lies,” which often described as country music’s first concept album.
