A graduate’s walk to Commencement

NEW ALBANY, IN (May 13, 2011) - The walk down the hill to the Indiana University Southeast amphitheater is a highlight for graduates on Commencement Day. For Leann McClain, it was a triumph of will. McClain, a senior from Borden, Ind., who graduated with her B.A. in English and literature, was born with a mild form of cerebral palsy. The nerves in her legs and arms were damaged, making it difficult for her to walk. She has spent time in wheelchairs, with walkers, and with crutches. On Commencement Day, she walked with braces on her legs.

Graduate Business Programs Open House scheduled at IU Southeast

IU Southeast hires new development officers

NEW ALBANY, IN (May 16, 2011) – Indiana University Southeast is pleased to announce the hiring of two development officers for the campus. Kirk Randolph and Melissa Weissinger joined IU Southeast on Monday, May 16, as development officers within the Office of Development. Each will be responsible for working with donors on major gifts and annual gifts to the campus. Duties will be split between the various schools and departments at IU Southeast.

IU Southeast announces new athletic director

NEW ALBANY, IN (May 12, 2011) - Joe Glover has been hired as Indiana University Southeast's new athletic director as announced by University officials on Thursday morning. Glover will begin his new post effective immediately having served as the department's interim director since August 2010.

2011 IU Southeast Commencement to be held May 9

NEW ALBANY, IN, (May 5, 2011) – Indiana University Southeast’s largest graduating class will become the school’s newest alumni at the 43rd Commencement next week. Commencement ceremonies will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, May 9, at the IU Southeast Amphitheater. The Class of 2011 is made up of 1,151 students, including 1,104 who will receive their degrees from IU on Monday and 47 who will receive their degrees at a separate ceremony held by Purdue University College of Technology.

IU Southeast presents Mid-Year Economic Update

NEW ALBANY, IN (May 4, 2011) – The Indiana University Southeast School of Business is offering students, faculty, and residents of the community an opportunity to learn more about their local economy. The Mid-Year Economic Update, sponsored by the Southern Indiana Business Source and the School of Business, will be held at 8 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, in the Hoosier Room at IU Southeast. A networking breakfast preceding the presentation begins at 7 a.m.
