Marine shares his Path to Peace during visit at IU Southeast

NEW ALBANY, IN (April 27, 2011) – U.S. Marine and author Rye Barcott will bring his message of making a difference to IU Southeast today. Barcott, a Marine who served in Iraq, is also the co-founder of Carolina For Kibera (CFK) with Tabitha Atieno Festo and Salim Mohamed and the author of the memoir It Happened on the Way to War: A Marine’s Path to Peace. He will speak at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, in the IU Southeast Library.

Polar bear biologist to visit IU Southeast

NEW ALBANY, IN (April 22, 2011) – A scientist who helped polar bears become part of the endangered species list will tell the story of “Polar Bears Today” at Indiana University Southeast. Polar bear biologist Steven Amstrup will share his expertise on the arctic animal at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, in the Hoosier Room at IU Southeast.

Rendezvous at the Zoo with IU Southeast

NEW ALBANY, IN (April 21, 2011) – Join Indiana University Southeast for lions, tigers, and bears at the Louisville Zoo. The first IU Southeast Rendezvous at the Zoo will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at the Louisville Zoo.

Get a taste of Indiana brews at the Ogle Center’s 2011 Bier Prost

NEW ALBANY, IN (April 19, 2011) – The Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at Indiana University Southeast will showcase the Hoosier Art of Brewing through a tasting of the finest beers and wines from local breweries and wineries throughout the state of Indiana at the 2011 Bier Prost. The Bier Prost will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, April 29, at Horseshoe Casino Indiana.

International and local journalists to visit IU Southeast

NEW ALBANY, IN (April 18, 2011) – Two journalists, one local and one from abroad, will join forces at Indiana University Southeast this week to discuss the state of journalism. Reporter Sujoy Dhar, who works for Reuters in India, and reporter Laura Ungar, of The Courier-Journal, will speak at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, in the Cultural Resource Center at the IU Southeast Library.

IU Southeast to host Campus Beautification Day

Former Phantom of the Opera star brings Broadway to IU Southeast

Franc D’Ambrosio, the “World’s Longest Running Phantom”, presents “Franc D’Ambrosio’s Broadway” at 8 p.m., Friday, April 15, at the Ogle Center.
