Journalists stop at IU Southeast to discuss being Muslim in America

NEW ALBANY, IN (Feb. 28, 2011) – Two New Yorkers decided during Ramadan 2010 to take a road trip across America. They planned to stop each evening to break their fasts at different mosques in different states. Although the journey has ended, they are making another stop at Indiana University Southeast to talk about what it is like to be a Muslim in American today.

IU Southeast business students win stock competition

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Feb. 25, 2011) – A group of Indiana University Southeast students took first place in an investment research challenge championship. The IU Southeast School of Business student team won the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of Louisville’s Investment Research Challenge held Feb. 24 in Louisville.

International Festival brings world cuisine to IU Southeast

IU Southeast to host 50th anniversary celebration of Peace Corps

NEW ALBANY, IN (Feb. 23, 2011) – Indiana University Southeast is hosting a 50th anniversary celebration of the Peace Corps next week. Three IU southeast faculty members and two IU Southeast alumni who served in the Peace Corps will hold a panel discussion at noon, Tuesday, March 1, in the IU Southeast Library.

IU Southeast faculty to host Oral History Workshop at Jeffersonville Library

NEW ALBANY, IN (Feb. 22, 2011) – Learn how to help keep history alive at the Community Oral History Workshop. Dr. Carl E. Kramer, director of the Institute for Local and Oral History at Indiana University Southeast and a long-time historian of southern Indiana and the Greater Louisville Metropolitan Region, will conduct an oral history workshop at the Jeffersonville Township Public Library from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Feb. 24.

Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to stop by and view the latest Grenadier to arrive on campus. Renowned wood carver Jason Emmons created a one-of-a-kind wood sculpture of a life-size Grenadier during Homecoming weekend. The carving is now on display in the breezeway of University Center South.

IU Southeast School of Business offers workshop to local entrepreneurs

NEW ALBANY, IN (Feb. 10, 2011) – Developing great entrepreneurial skills takes work, time, and creative thinking. Interested entrepreneurs can strengthen those skills and more at a workshop offered by Indiana University Southeast. This spring the IU Southeast School of Business and the Regional Economic Development Resource Center (REDRC) are hosting “Building Your Entrepreneurial Skills: Do I have what it takes?”
