IU Southeast students track endangered sea turtles in Egypt

NEW ALBANY, IN (Oct. 27, 2010) – Several Indiana University Southeast students and their professors made their way to Africa this past summer to research two different species of endangered animals. The IU Southeast Field Biology course traveled to the Red Sea coast of Egypt to work with Egyptian rangers, attaching satellite transmitters to endangered green sea turtles. Preservation of these specific turtles is important as they are key components of the marine ecosystem.

2010 IU Southeast Chancellor’s Medallion Dinner sold out

NEW ALBANY, IN, (Oct. 22, 2010) – The Indiana University Southeast 2010 Chancellor’s Medallion Dinner is sold out. IU Southeast Chancellor Sandra R. Patterson-Randles, IU President Michael A. McRobbie, J.T. Forbes, executive director of the IU Alumni Association, and Paula Jenkins, vice president of development for regional campuses for the IU Foundation, will join nearly 600 attendees at Horseshoe Southern Indiana on Oct. 30 to recognize Jack Koetter and Jim Morris, this year’s recipients of the Chancellor’s Medallion.

Zili Misik brings West Africa and Haiti to the Ogle Center at IU Southeast

IU Southeast Fine Arts students to present work at Zephyr Gallery

NEW ALBANY, IN (Oct. 22, 2010) – Jump on a trolley and join Indiana University Southeast Fine Arts students for a showing of “Set in Motion” at Zephyr Gallery. The showing will take place at the First Friday Trolley Hop on Friday Nov. 5, from 7-9 p.m. at 610 East Market Street in Louisville. It is the students’ capstone project.

IU Southeast alumna named a National Distinguished Principal

NEW ALBANY, IN (Oct. 20, 2010) – An Indiana University Southeast alumna has been named a National Distinguished Principal. Myra Powell, principal of William W. Borden Elementary School in Borden, Ind., is one of 62 outstanding elementary and middle school principals who were named 2010 National Distinguished Principals by the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

IU Southeast students go green for spring registration

NEW ALBANY, IN (Oct.13, 2010) – Indiana University Southeast students will no longer need highlighters, magnifying glasses, and pens to locate next semester’s classes. Registration for the spring semester begins Oct. 25 and everything students need – including a schedule of classes – can be found online.

Chancellor’s Medallion dinner honors award winners , scholarship recipients

A limited number of tickets remain available for the Indiana University Southeast 2010 Chancellor’s Medallion Dinner. The Chancellor’s Medallion Dinner will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 at Horseshoe Southern Indiana. The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. This year’s dinner will again be emceed by Wayne Perkey, former WHAS Radio personality.
